We are seeking a highly motivated individual to take up this key role within the organization, working primarily within the Marketing team. The successful applicant will have experience in developing both content and code for the web and have the ability to quickly pick up new skills and technologies.

It is envisaged that the nature of the work will be varied and you will need to be able to work well with our customers, business partners, other team members as well as members of other departments

This is an excellent role for the right person to expand on their existing skill set with the opportunity to specialize in new open source web technologies and ECM in an organization that is redefining what enterprise content management means in the current technological environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with other team members and departments to create new web content
  • Ensure existing web content remains up-to-date and relevant
  • Work with other team members to further develop our on-line brand and corporate image
  • Support and manage Alfresco’s key web infrastructure including web sites, wikis, forums and weblogs as well as the underlying systems
  • Provide proactive monitoring across external systems and services to ensure continuity of service
  • Ensure availability of web systems in relation to disaster recovery
  • Liaise with external suppliers as needed to troubleshoot and resolve issues

Essential skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop both content and code for the web
  • Experience administering and developing on a LAMP stack and Apache Tomcat
  • Strong technical skills specifically relating to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and XSLT
  • Working knowledge of Java and Enterprise Java stacks including JSP and servlets
  • A knowledge and understanding of common web standards
  • An understanding of the concepts relating to web accessibility and usability
  • Attention to detail and a strong  desire to define solutions that exceed expectations
  • Proven problem-solving ability in both business and technical environments
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self-disciplined and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, nimble environment

Desirable skills

  • Familiarity with common graphics packages, e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Inkscape and GIMP
  • Experience working with and administering common PHP applications e.g. MediaWiki, WordPress, phpBB
  • Experience using the Freemarker templating language
  • Knowledge and experience of Alfresco and/or other content management systems
  • An understanding of the contents of customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Familiarity with the concepts and techniques of search engine optimisation
  • Knowledge of application architecture (MVC patterns, JDBC, version control, build management)
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture (UNIX, RDBMS, MOM, LDAP, clustering)
