"Facebook for Government" - the case for open source

When: September 30 2008
Where: London, UK

Partnerships for Schools (P4S) has unveiled its new dynamic Building Schools for the Future website, with a whole host of new functionality including blogs, polls, video's, calendars, and an online collaboration area. They have achieved this at a fraction of the cost of similar projects by procuring an open source solution from Alfresco Software.

You are invited to an exclusive event on 30th September in London, where Karl Hoods from P4S will be providing key insights into their 18-month web rationalisation and knowledge management project - culminating in their decision to procure Alfresco.

Karl will be covering details of their implementation, thoughts on best practice and lessons learned. John Powell, CEO of Alfresco, will be the key note speaker from Alfresco, providing a valuable update on the open source vs. proprietary debate.

Finally, Steve Odart, founder of Ixxus, the Alfresco Gold Partner who delivered the project, will provide an overview on the cost/benefits delivered through open source.

Consultants from Ixxus and P4S staff will be available over lunch for one on one interactive sessions to answer specific questions and demonstrate the software functionality.
