The Optaros Code Camp for Alfresco Surf 3.0
When: November 10 2008
Where: Digital Sandbox, New York, New York
Registration:
Please enter your name to be put on the waiting list for our upcoming Code Camp. Entering your name does not guarantee a spot in the Code Camp. You will be emailed a confirmation letter if you are officially registered. We apologize for this inconvenience, but space is very limited.
The Code Camp is an informal gathering of developers interested in learning and in helping others learn about Alfresco Surf. The first part of the day will follow a traditional agenda comprised of short presentations and hands-on labs. Afterwards, we will shift into a workshop mode where all Code Camp attendees will be encouraged to brainstorm and present ideas around Surf components they would like to develop. Both an Optaros and Alfresco team lead will be in attendance to facilitate these efforts. We encourage all attendees to stay through dinner to code, collaborate and share ideas on Alfresco.
Why:
- Attend the Code Camp to learn from Optaros, an Alfresco Platinum and Surf First Wave partner
- Participate in hands-on labs where you will be introduced to the Surf framework
- Experience an easy set-up and configuration through access to a virtual machine image
- Enjoy the opportunity to network and learn from others
- Realize you are attending the only source for Surf training and documentation
Who Should Attend:
- People familiar with Alfresco who plan to build applications on the Alfresco platform
- Developers interested in using Surf to develop web applications
- Alfresco Community members looking for a way to get involved in and contribute to the Community
The Small Print:
Space is limited. Please do not assume that you are registered upon completing the interest form. We will confirm accepted attendees by email.
Be Prepared:
Attendees should have a passing familiarity with Alfresco web scripts and underlying web script technologies such as JavaScript and FreeMarker. Java knowledge is not required to be productive during this Code Camp. The topics are presented through slides and labs that attendees will perform on their own laptops using a virtual machine image pre-configured with the Alfresco platform.

8:30 am: Why Surf?
9:00 am: Introduction to Surf
11:00 am: Remoting and Component API

Be Recognized Through Surf Coding Contest:
