Alfresco Web Studio is a visual design tool for the Alfresco Surf Platform.

Alfresco Web Studio provides an ease-of-use experience for building web sites. It provides ease-of-use comparable to that of Drupal and Joomla.

The following concepts have driven the creation of Alfresco Web Studio:

  1. Simple Web Site Creation:
Create a web site in under ten seconds.
  2. Safe Editing:
Make any change to your web site knowing that you can always roll back if you make a mistake. A completely safe and isolated editing environment.
  3. Easy Page Authoring:
Add new pages to your site with just a few clicks. Drag and drop site assembly. Access a rich library of online components and templates.
  4. In-Context Editing:
    Visual in-context editing and preview.
  5. Share with the Community:
Upload and download the things you build through Alfresco Network.
Alfresco Web Studio's feature set will include:
  1. Site manager
    * Creates and administers the web site
  2. Content Contributor
    * Authors new content and places it into the web site
    * Previews content, makes changes and then submits content for approval
  3. Content Editor
    * Uses dashboards to review content editing tasks
    * Edits content within context of website and approves for release
  4. Site Designer
    * Builds the web site from pages, templates and presets
    * Associates components into page regions and configures components
