On Tuesday April 17, 2007 John Newton, Chief Technology Officer of Alfresco, and Wilson D'Souza of MIT presented a session on how Web 2.0 has forced the creation of a new generation of enterprise content management systems.
The focus of the presentation was on the following three main objectives:
- How new communication tools combined with ECM minimizes the time it takes knowledge to reach the community
- How content and content applications can now combine with other applications to create new types of interactive applications in the browser
- How the open source movement affects both Web 2.0 and ECM going forward.
