Our model

Alfresco solutions are sold via subscription. Our enterprise subscriptions allow us to leverage the best innovation of an open community—then test, certify, and support it for use in trusted enterprise environments. A subscription is the best way for us to establish an ongoing relationship with our customers.  Alfresco is available as a fully supported, on-premise, enterprise subscription, as a full-SaaS cloud service or as a combined hybrid cloud service that leverages the best of both worlds.

We also release the cutting edge Alfresco Community download to allow developers to try it, test it, use it for their small projects, and give us feedback. Alfresco Community has been downloaded more than 4 million times.

Our people

Alfresco was founded in 2005 by John Newton, co-founder of Documentum, and John Powell, former COO of Business Objects. Our team includes leading members from FileNet, OpenText, Red Hat, Vignette, and Interwoven.  In 2012, Doug Dennerline joined as CEO of Alfresco, bringing enterprise cloud expertise from his tenures at SuccessFactors (now part of SAP), Salesforce.com & Cisco Webex.
