Our aim is to deliver open technology that empowers you to do your best work.
Starting with a foundation of Continuous Customer Success, Alfresco has developed a set of core values that drives our actions. Learn more about Alfresco's values.
Our technology couples the innovation of an open source development model with the stability of a true enterprise-class platform. It has led to rapid development and adoption of Alfresco Enterprise—from the Fortune 500 to enterprises of all sizes. We believe that an open platform can not only outpace innovation of proprietary content management platforms—but also deliver greater flexibility in today’s environment where highly adaptable, globally distributed organizations are the norm. To that end, Alfresco technology is now available as a true, multi-tenant cloud service with native mobile applications for iOS and Android. With an open, standards-based API and open source mobile SDKs, Alfresco continues to leverage the power of open standards and open source to deliver value for customers - even in the cloud.
Alfresco solutions are sold via subscription. Our enterprise subscriptions allow us to leverage the best innovation of an open community—then test, certify, and support it for use in trusted enterprise environments. A subscription is the best way for us to establish an ongoing relationship with our customers. Alfresco is available as a fully supported, on-premise, enterprise subscription, as a full-SaaS cloud service or as a combined hybrid cloud service that leverages the best of both worlds.
We also release the cutting edge Alfresco Community download to allow developers to try it, test it, use it for their small projects, and give us feedback. Alfresco Community has been downloaded more than 4 million times.
Alfresco was founded in 2005 by John Newton, co-founder of Documentum, and John Powell, former COO of Business Objects.
