Deployment of Alfresco as the standard document management solution across Saint-Gobain Group : worldwide solution. Alfresco is completely integrated with the Group portal.

Please describe the business and/or technical challenges you faced in this project: Business challenges : user adoption, interface, ease of use. Technical : integration with Group portal (IBM WebSphere) and Enterprise Search Engine (Sinequa). Worldwide deployment

Please describe why you chose Alfresco. Were you using a different solution previously? If so, why did you change?
We've chosen Alfresco because the product proposes 5 standard interfaces and it's very open so integration is very easy

Describe the solution/service/web site you built using Alfresco:
Alfresco is completely integrated with the portal : all documents appearing in the portal are in fact hosted in Alfresco.

Please highlight the use of other open source software in the solution.:
Single node, Linux (RHEL), 200 Go of docs, Oracle. Other open software used: CAS for SSO

Did you work with a certified Alfresco partner? If so, please name them and describe your experience: We worked with Alfresco Consulting and our Indian Partner (Cognizant).

What value did you gain from implementing Alfresco and how did this impact your business?

What sorts of “soft” benefits do you have (collaboration, ease of use, flexibility of deployment and access, etc.)?
Capability of easily sharing documents with all our employees in all countries (project & team mode). Capability for building a referential repository for our standard documents

What advice do you have for other companies facing a similar business challenge? Benefit from the openness of the product for easily integrating Alfresco into the IT architecture. Benefit from the 5 native Alfresco interfaces. The effort for training users to Alfresco is minimal.
