Alfresco / Jive Partnership
Alfresco Software, the open platform for Enterprise Content Management, and Jive Software, have partnered to bring best-of-breed content management and social business software together for customers. The integration is based on Alfresco 4 using the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard – an industry Enterprise Content Management specification that Alfresco supports. Alfresco 4 is a content platform that can co-exist with social business systems such as Jive, and adds content management and retention capabilities to those systems. Key capabilities of the integration include:
- Cross-Platform Publishing – creates content instantly in both Alfresco and Jive and publishes documents to both platforms. In addition, when in Jive, users can bring in existing Alfresco documentation and work on the platform of their choice all while taking advantage of the features of both systems through the integration.
- Common Database and Taxonomy – uses LDAP to ensure consistency of authorship.
- Permission Mapping and Synching – maintains consistent content visibility and edit-ability between systems.
- Standards Based – employs the CMIS interface to integrate Jive and Alfresco.
