Alfresco Named as One-To-Watch in Enterprise Software Solutions
Network World lists Alfresco in 2007's Top Ten Enterprise Software Companies
LONDON—April 23rd 2007—Alfresco Software, Inc., the first and leading provider of an open source enterprise content management solution, today announced that it has been named by Network World as one of the top ten enterprise software companies to watch this year.
Network World labeled Alfresco as one-to-watch following The World Economic Forum's naming of Alfresco as a technology pioneer for 2007.
The World Economic Forum praised Alfresco, saying the company: “Dramatically lowers total cost of ownership through open source distribution, working in the user's native environment, minimizing training and using low-cost, loosely coupled hardware.”
Alfresco now has more than 250 customers including H&R Block, Harvard University, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the American Stock Exchange. The community version of Alfresco's open source ECM has been downloaded more than half a million times.
Alfresco’s products include Alfresco Community Network, Alfresco Enterprise Network and Alfresco Small Business Network.
“The fact that Network World's research has highlighted Alfresco as one to watch vindicates the influence of open source in the purchasing decisions of enterprise companies and validates the efforts of Alfresco's core team and community in creating a next generation ECMS platform,” said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco Inc.
