Alfresco to deliver presentation on Web 2.0 and next generation ECM

Boston—April 17, 2007— Alfresco Software Inc., the first and leading provider of an open source enterprise content management solution, today announced its participation in the AIIM Conference and Exposition.

John Newton, Chief Technology Officer, Alfresco, will be co-presenting with Wilson D'Souza of MIT. The presentation will focus on how Web 2.0 has forced the creation of a new generation of enterprise content management systems.

The presentation will begin at 2.00pm on Tuesday April 17 in Room 153A of the Boston Convention Center. The presentation will focus on three main objectives:

  • How new communication tools combined with ECM minimizes the time it takes knowledge to reach the community
  • How content and content applications can now combine with other applications to create new types of interactive applications in the browser
  • How the open source movement affects both Web 2.0 and ECM going forward.
