Alfresco Names Barry Duplantis VP of Customer Services

Red Hat and HP Veteran to Lead Client Support and Training Activities for Global Open Source ECM Company

LONDON—May 11, 2010 — Alfresco Software today announced the appointment of Barry Duplantis as vice president of customer services. With more than 20 years of software support services and operations experience at leading companies including HP and Red Hat, Duplantis will be responsible for coordinating Alfresco customer support, training, consulting and documentation projects globally.

“Over the past year, the Alfresco Enterprise edition has been a key driver of our growth, and our decision to add Barry to our team demonstrates our commitment to continuing to focus on the customer experience,” said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco Software. “With his superb track record in managing customer support at a global level and his experiences with subscription models similar to Alfresco’s, I have every confidence in Barry’s ability to coordinate all aspects of the Alfresco customer experience.”

Duplantis comes to Alfresco from HP, where he was Director of the company’s Global Incident Management Support team and managed global support strategy and direction for HP’s entire software portfolio. Duplantis also brings expertise in subscription-based services – prior to HP he ran Global Support Services for Red Hat, where he successfully transitioned Red Hat’s support services from a model focused on hobbyist users to an enterprise subscription-based support model.

“With an impressive base of clients in a range of key industries – from government to media and financial services – and a strong commitment to open source innovation, Alfresco is a very exciting place to take the next step in my career,” said Duplantis. “I was pleased to find that we were aligned in our approach – that the true value of a subscription is revealed though how we deliver support and services for our products to our customers.”
