H Online - Alfresco enterprise CMS now reaches the iPhone
Alfresco have announced the release of Alfresco Community Edition 3.2, the open source enterprise content management system, adding features such as mobile access, IMAP support and enhanced records management.
The new release extends the accessibility of content to mobile devices such as the iPhone with a new front end customised to the smaller form factor of those devices. "With Alfresco's new Smartphone client, users can take their work with them, and they are no longer tied to their desks" said John Newton, Alfresco CTO, adding that the current "lean times" for businesses made them demand content management systems that supported a mobile workforce.
