Leader in open source social content management offers new e-learning courses to meet increasing demand for Alfresco best practices

LONDON – November 23, 2010 – Alfresco Software has expanded its Training Services with the addition of “on-demand” e-learning courses. With more than 1,500 individuals trained through Alfresco’s live, in-person instructional courses over the past two years, e-learning will enable customers to take advantage of more flexible, lower cost training options.

“As our customer, partner and user community base has grown, so has the demand for our training services – in several regions throughout the world,” said Carlos Miguens, Director of Training for Alfresco. “We also recognize that both Alfresco Community and Enterprise users are more time- and resource-constrained than ever, so our e-learning courses were designed to help users reduce travel costs and offer the flexibility to train on their own time and at their own pace.”

For the first time, Alfresco’s training program will include on-demand e-learning courses, which trainees can take and complete at their leisure, on their own schedules. Launched this month, Alfresco’s first e-learning course will be an introduction to System Administration, designed for users who need to deploy a production-ready system. The System Administration course will cost $899.

Three new e-learning courses will be added over the next 12 months. Alfresco will continue to offer live, in-person instructor-lead courses through Alfresco training centers in Atlanta (USA) and Maidenhead (UK), as well as via the Alfresco Training Partner network in 25 countries.

“My staff have attended Alfresco’s live instructional courses over the past year and they’ve greatly helped us improve our knowledge of the system” said Dave Speake, Assistant Director, Technical Services at the University of Sheffield in the UK. “The e-learning option makes it even easier to keep up to date on new features and functionality and also the skills my organization relies on to continue to expand our use of Alfresco.”
