Jive Connector

Alfresco Software, the open platform for social content management, and Jive Software, have partnered to bring best-of-breed content management and social business software together for customers. The integration is based on Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 using the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard – an Enterprise Content Management specification that Alfresco supports. Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 is a content platform that can co-exist with social business systems such as Jive, and adds content management and retention capabilities to those systems. Key capabilities of the integration include:

  • Cross-Platform Publishing – creates content instantly in both Alfresco and Jive and publishes documents to both platforms. In addition, when in Jive, users can bring in existing Alfresco documentation and work on the platform of their choice all while taking advantage of the features of both systems through the integration.
  • Common Database and Taxonomy – uses LDAP to utilize the common user store database to ensure consistency of authorship.
  • Permission Mapping and Synching – maintains consistent content visibility and edit-ability between systems, while synchronizing ACLs between Jive and Alfresco.
  • Standards Based – employs the CMIS interface to provide a standard enterprise content management API supported by Alfresco for the primary interface for the Jive and Alfresco integration.

The Alfresco-Jive connector is available now for Alfresco customers on Enterprise or Standard support. Access to the integration connector tool kit is available through the Alfresco support portal.
