Are you planning an upcoming vacation or business trip? I do a lot of traveling both personally and professionally in my role at Alfresco so  it seems I am always logging into travel sites to book my next trip.

Did you know that many of the leading travel sites leverage Alfresco? In fact, we just published a new case study on Grupo Posadas, the largest Latin American hotel chain operator who has successfully reduced Web site costs thanks to Alfresco and some of our partners.

With the help of our Platinum Partner, CIGNEX, Posadas recently rolled out four new online portals built on Liferay and Alfresco for its Fiesta Americana, Live Aqua, Fiesta Americana Grand and Caesar Park brands.  What I find fascinating is how quickly the new portals have positively impacted the Posadas brands.  In a matter of a few months, Posadas saw an improvement in their revenue per available room rate – a key metric for the hotel industry.

By replacing its old legacy site and content management system (Documentum), Posadas can now publish content in real-time across four of its brands and provide a personalized experience for the user.  The company is incorporating more social media into its portal strategy allowing them to easily respond to changing consumer demands.  Equally importantly, Posadas has seen a 40 percent reduction in total cost of ownership with the new Alfresco and Liferay implementation from its previous legacy solution.

With all the various travel sites available to users, Posadas trusts Alfresco and Liferay to provide them with a platform for the future that is flexible, cost effective and will grow with the company.
