This week, Alfresco hosted a Government Summit in Washington D.C. that brought together thought leaders from the IT space. We talked about a host of relevant business topics, including digital transformation, application modernization, records management - and I'm happy to say that the discussions were fruitful and meaningful. It was also an exciting time for Alfresco, as it marked the day we announced our new product enhancements in process, content and governance services - as well as our latest application development update. I wanted to share with you some photos and highlights from the event:

We loved how engaged everyone stayed the entire time and it was a pleasure to spend the day with our customers, partners and colleagues. The product launch of the Alfresco Insight Engine was really well received, especially amongst our friends in the Intelligence Community.  The EPA solutions presentation by Tim Crawford generated strong interest - with Alfresco being an executive sponsor to get their solution 5015.2 Chapter 4 (FOIA) certified via JITC.

alfresco-gov-summit-6Lawrence Hart’s Breaking Down Barriers to Content services session was also well attended. He made great points about leveraging the power of the platform to break down information silos.

One of the most exciting topics for me was discussing the enhancements we're making in our Application Development Framework (ADF) that enables users to create fit-to-purpose experiences for their business.  One such example came from our partner NDi who talked about their success with using ADF and the speed with which it delivered.

I also enjoyed an interesting blockchain panel, featuring our own, John Newton that highlighted its value to public sector agencies. We talked about how its use cases expand beyond just records management, but also for supply chain, etc.

And on a very topical note, attendees also enjoyed a panel on Modernizing Records with which we were able to spend some time on our new Governance capabilities, also released this week. Topics such as compliance to ISO 16175, re-certification of DoD 5015.02, a new records management REST API were discussed and collaborated on.

Thanks to those who were able to join us this week. We hope you found the experience as enjoyable and educational as I did. We'd love to hear your feedback on the topics you found most relevant or that you'd like to hear about in greater depth.
