Alfresco Named in EContent 100 List of Companies That Matter for Fourth Consecutive Year

Alfresco’s Open Source ECM System Honored for its Impact on the Digital Content Industry

LONDON — November 24, 2009 —Alfresco Software, Inc., the leader in open source enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, has been named to EContent Magazine's 2009 EContent 100 list of “companies that matter most in the digital content industry” for the fourth consecutive year. Selected by a panel of 14 industry experts, companies were evaluated based on performance, market share, thought leadership, technology leadership and willingness to experiment with new technology.

Alfresco, which recently became the first open source software to obtain U.S. Department of Defense 5015.02 records management certification, has seen major adoption of its ECM system throughout the world. The company currently has more than 800 enterprise customers, over 270 SI and OEM partners, and has surpassed the 2.0 million downloads mark. Most recently, Alfresco’s CEO John Powell and VP Business Development Matt Asay were listed among MindTouch’s “Most Influential People in Open Source” for their roles in bringing accessible and affordable open source technology to the content management market.
