Alfresco Acquisition Powers Next Generation Business Applications
WeWebU technology will enable hybrid cloud and mobile content management solutions
London, UK - January 31, 2013 - Today Alfresco, the open platform for business-critical content management and collaboration, announced it has acquired WeWebU Software AG, a leading provider of content-centric business applications based in Germany. WeWebU strengthens Alfresco’s portfolio of enterprise solutions by delivering configurable, role-based file and transactional content management capabilities on top of the Alfresco platform.

The combination of Alfresco and WeWebU will allow customers to streamline content-centric business processes such as contract, deal and eFile management as well as managing employee files and financial document processing. WeWebU adds dynamic, role-based views and virtual folders to Alfresco’s powerful content management platform, making it easier to customize Alfresco to business processes with configuration instead of coding.
According to the Forrester report “Address the Complex Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Landscape,” (1) “ECM vendors will need to abandon their technology-first direction and concentrate on developing repeatable solutions that solve real business problems. These solutions focus on automating the business process and providing content management capabilities that streamline the content capture to content action timeline.”
WeWebU provides applications that allow organizations such as Swiss Accident Insurance (SUVA), Mannheimer Insurance and the public sector - from national to local unleashing their enterprise information. In addition, WeWebU features desktop and office suite integration to bring the same usability to the iPad and iPhone by fully integrating mobile users into processes and workflows.
