Alfresco Announces Major Mobile Investments, iPad and iPhone Applications Available Now
New Applications Highlight Commitment to Open and Flexible Mobile Innovation
London, September 28th, 2011 — Alfresco, the open platform for social content management, today announced the availability of Alfresco Mobile - free iOS apps for the iPad and iPhone. Available in the Apple App Store today Alfresco’s iOS apps extend the Alfresco experience to iOS devices and give corporate users direct access to all of their critical business content on the go. Alfresco Mobile works seamlessly across the entire Alfresco product portfolio, including the latest versions of Alfresco Team, Enterprise and Community. All current Alfresco users can download the free apps to access their content directly from an iPhone or iPad.
According to Apple, the tablet computer has been tested or deployed at 80% of Fortune 100 companies in 2011. As tablet adoption continues to increase, employees will demand the ability to choose their own devices and software, while enterprises, within the bounds of security and compliance requirements, increasingly want to support tools that empower their employees to be more productive.

Coinciding with the release of their mobile apps, Alfresco also announced the hire of former Project Manager at Apple, Marc Dubresson, to lead a new mobile division within Alfresco and guide future mobile product development. At Apple, Marc was responsible for the release of the first Apple iPad app, Pages, which remains the top grossing iPad app today.
