Alfresco Appoints Kathleen Reidy Director of Market Strategy
Reidy to Lead Growth Strategy, Building on Recent Release of Alfresco in the Cloud
London April 04, 2012 - Alfresco, the open platform for social content management, today announced the appointment of Kathleen Reidy as the company's Director of Market Strategy. In her new role, Reidy will oversee analyst relations, foster and grow industry relationships, and ensure that Alfresco continues to bring open innovation in mobile and cloud content management to enterprises around the world.
Reidy brings 15 years of experience in content and information management, including most recently, her work at The 451 Group, where she was a senior analyst covering content management and collaboration technologies. While at The 451 Group, Reidy was widely acknowledged as one of the leading experts on enterprise content management, and advised vendors, IT users and investors on content management strategies and trends. Most recently, Reidy covered the hot space of mobile file sharing and sync, where dozens of vendors are vying to become the "Dropbox for the enterprise."
"I'm honored to join Alfresco at such an exciting time," said Kathleen Reidy, Director of Market Strategy at Alfresco. "As I have been analyzing this market, there are very few companies that can provide customers with choice, flexibility and peace of mind, as enterprise content moves to the cloud and to mobile devices. Alfresco's strategy delivers that, with a hybrid-cloud approach that can sync Alfresco in the cloud with Alfresco Enterprise, and mobile apps that embrace both open source and open standards. On top of that, this is a company with a strong and loyal customer base, which attests to its product strengths and track record."
"We're thrilled to have Kathleen join the leadership team at Alfresco," said Todd Barr, CMO of Alfresco. "Kathleen is one of the most respected minds in the content management space and she will provide a tremendous amount of insight and expertise regarding not only the traditional ECM market, but the evolution of content management into a mobile and tablet-oriented workforce."
Prior to joining The 451 Group, Reidy was an independent consultant working with several vendor clients on long-term market research, competitive analysis and market projections. She also previously held product marketing and product management roles in the software division at Sun Microsystems and was a senior industry analyst with Giga Information Group where she followed content management and search technologies.
Reidy graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in History and Political Science. She also holds a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Rhode Island.
