Optaros Authors Alfresco Developer Guide

Developer’s guide comprised of best practices from actual deployments of Alfresco’s open source CMS

BOSTON — Oct. 31, 2008 — Optaros, Inc., a Platinum Alfresco Partner and Next Generation Internet (NGI) consulting firm, has authored The Alfresco Developer Guide, a book to help developers implement open source content management solutions on the Alfresco platform. The book incorporates best practices learned from numerous large-scale client engagements, which appear as step-by-step examples.

The Alfresco Developer Guide takes an in-depth look at how to write customized code to implement the Alfresco open source CMS for a fictional corporation, SomeCo. The reader is led through each chapter as if they are working for SomeCo and customizing the open source CMS for the unique needs of each department. By the end of the book, every area of the Alfresco product has been examined, including content modeling, advanced workflow, Web Scripts, Web Content Management and the API.

“Alfresco’s open source content management system has been extremely effective for Optaros’ work with clients across the globe,” says Jeff Potts, content management practice lead at Optaros, Alfresco’s 2007 North American Contributor of the Year and Alfresco Developer Guide author. “The Alfresco Developer Guide explains to developers how to roll out a successful Alfresco deployment in their own companies, using step-by-step instructions based on our expertise at Optaros, as a platinum Alfresco partner.”

“Optaros employs the largest group of consultants in the world who are fully trained to work with all of Alfresco’s open source content management software,” says John Powell, Alfresco’s president and CEO. “As a trusted Alfresco partner, Optaros’ backing of the Alfresco Developer Guide just makes sense.”
